MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Madison County Schools paraeducator is facing child abuse charges.
According to court documents, on Tuesday, 63-year-old Beverly Vanwinkle-Thompson was detained at her home and taken to the Richmond Police Department where she was later arrested.

According to her arrest citation, a concerned parent of a 7-year-old student at White Hall Elementary reported to Richmond Police that his child was assaulted by school staff.
Richmond police say they received a video of Vanwinkle-Thompson and the student, which included Vanwinkle-Thompson pulling the student by her hair while the student was unclothed and smacking the child on the leg.
