LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified a victim Friday in a fatal shooting that happened in Louisville nearly five months ago.
On May 26, Louisville Metro police responded to a report of a person down in the 1600 block of Patton Court in the Algonquin neighborhood, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers on scene found what appeared to be an "obviously deceased individual" who had been shot inside the location.
The following day, the coroner's office advised LMPD's Homicide Unit that foul play was suspected.
LMPD Homicide Unit then took control of the investigation.
On Friday, the coroner's office identified the victim as 47-year-old Paul McMahan.
