STANLEY, N.D. (KMOT) - Mountrail County Health Center is growing and getting a new nursing home.
Mayor Marlin Ranum told us the nursing home could see a whole new living space by next March.
The previous home was built in the late 1950s.
When the new building is complete, the mayor said they’ll take down the old one.
“While all these other nursing homes closed around us, that makes it even more important for Stanley to succeed,” said Ranum.
The $53 million project is also adding space to the hospital.
Plans call for it to get a new entry, ambulance garage, waiting room kitchen, among other upgrades.
The mayor said the hospital and nursing home is likely the largest employer in town.
