For professor Samuel Freedman, the legacy of South Dakota's Hubert Humphrey is too often forgotten.

At Dakota State University's History and Ethics Forum on Oct. 21, Freedman made the case for why Humphrey is a historical figure whose story carries a pertinent message for our modern day. Freedman, an award-winning author and former New York Times columnist, has written several journalistic books, including his most recent, "Into The Bright Sunshine: Young Hubert Humphrey And The Fight For Civil Rights." ×
