LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — One village is frozen in time in Luzerne County. Eckley Miners' Village, now a museum, was an old mining town founded in 1854. It is also the setting of the 1970 film The Molly Maguires.
As museum owners continue to preserve this history, students of Kutztown University's Communication Studies Department are working to make a piece of that history come alive.
"Some people still live here, but the rest of it is a living history museum, so where they shot The Molly Maguires, we're doing a trial about the Molly Maguires, so we're really excited about that," said Deryl Johnson, Communication Studies Professor at Kutztown University.
