About 50 people were in attendance for Mayor Jan Liggett’s “See Me, Hear Me: The Unheard Voices” ticketed event Friday morning at Hespeler Memorial Arena.

The city hosted a day of “storytelling, dialogue and action focused on the challenges and realities facing families affected by mental health and addictions.”

Liggett said the event is just the first step.

“My next goal is to have at the big city mayors’ caucus meeting to have some of these speakers there so that the rest of the mayors in the province can hear these same stories,” she said.
