YOUNGSTOWN - Chaney High School will soon be receiving locally grown, nutrition-forward meals for students.

Chef Jim Warner will be joining the school's kitchen staff beginning Monday October 27 as part of the Ohio Farm to School program. Chef Warner will be helping current staff augment student meals to incorporate fresh, local foods.

The Ohio Farm to School program is part of a national United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) network that encourages and helps provide access to locally grown, nutritious meals for students. The program also focuses on educating children on the importance of local agriculture and farmers in their communities.

The head of Ohio's Department of Education School Nutrition division will also be present as Chef Warner is welcomed into the high school
