NEWARK - An interim director has taken over the Newark Public Library, after the last director was fired without explanation this past summer.
The library’s Board of Trustees announced on Monday that it had appointed Sarah Wiggins as interim director of the seven-branch library system.
Wiggins, who started her leadership role at the Newark library on Oct. 16, is the former director of the Orange Public Library and brings experience in library leadership, including service in New York and Pennsylvania. She earned her Master of Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and holds multiple librarian certifications, including from Thomas Edison University.
