AVON, Ind. — The state is investigating a local gun range after an employee tested positive for extremely high levels of lead. Friday morning, the 13 Investigates team watched as the business put a sign on the door that said it was closing early, a message from the company's Facebook page said it was permanently closing.
13 Investigates started looking into this issue after a former employee reported he had lead poisoning and he worried about the health risk for other workers, customers and their families.
Kenny Simmons said he quit his job at Parabellum Firearms & Indoor Range in Avon after receiving his blood lead levels. He reports taking pictures and videos on his last day of work in September. He believes piles of particles include lead dust and it caused him to develop a dry cough
