Bus crash, assist rescue squad: I-271

Officers responded to a freeway construction zone at 2 a.m. Oct. 23 for a bus crash after the driver suffered a medical emergency at the wheel and crashed into a construction billboard trailer.

Reportedly carrying a band on tour, the eight passengers aboard escaped injury, although the Prevost motorcoach, registered out of Nashville, Tenn., had to be towed from the scene with disabling damage.

Medics transported the driver, a Mississippi man, 58, to a local hospital where he remained in the intensive care unit (ICU) the next day for further treatment and care with a further condition report unavailable.
