REARDON, Wash. – A head-on collision on State Route 2 east of Reardon resulted in tragedy when a driver attempting to pass traffic caused a deadly crash.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident occurred when a westbound driver tried to overtake traffic and collided with an eastbound vehicle.

Both cars were engulfed in flames following the impact. The driver who attempted to pass tragically died at the scene.

WSP has not yet released the identity of the deceased driver as they are in the process of notifying the family.
