A woman is in a ‘life-threatening condition’ while under police watch in hospital after a nine-year-old girl died in an Oxfordshire village.
Two other children were hurt in the incident at a property in Middle Street, Islip, at 11.15am on Tuesday, October 21.
Police rushed there following reports three children had been assaulted inside.
The nine-year-old girl was declared dead at the scene, while a boy and a girl were taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: ‘A post-mortem examination has been carried out, but the cause of death remains unascertained pending further investigation.
‘The girl’s family is being supported by specially trained family liaison officers and has requested privacy at this difficult time.’
