In connection with the ongoing investigation into the Jirania narcotics case, Tripura Police’s Economic Offence Wing, along with the Narcotics Department, conducted a fresh raid at the Ichabazar-based warehouse of P Das, identified as Prabir Das. The operation was carried out following the earlier incident where a large consignment of banned cough syrup Phensedyl was seized at the Jirania Railway Station while being illegally transported by train.

Following Friday at Dhaleswar and Thursday’s search operations at Maharajganj Bazararea, the police continued their crackdown on Saturday as well. On the secend day, a police team carried out a detailed search at the residence of Milton Ghosh in the Maharajganj Bazar area, who is alleged to be linked to the Jirania Escaf Syrup smuggling network.
