A coroner has demanded significant changes following the tragic death of a 12 year old boy who participated in a dangerous social media 'craze' known as Chroming, widely shared on TikTok, an inquest has disclosed.
Young Oliver Gorman was found unresponsive in his bedroom on the evening of 5 May this year, after returning from a family holiday to their home in Hyde.
Despite immediate hospitalisation, the young lad couldn't be saved. Numerous empty deodorant cans were discovered in his room, and a post-mortem concluded that he died due to inhaling butane gas– a propellant commonly used in many aerosol deodorants.
