ABBEVILLE -- Abbeville extended its more than 50-year winning streak against local neighbor Dixie, dominating from the opening whistle.
The Panthers capped off Senior Night in style, cruising to a decisive 55–7 victory.
“We scored every time we had the ball, I thought we came out with a lot of enthusiasm,” Abbeville coach Jamie Nickles said.
Dixie coach Mark Sorrow didn’t have much to say following the tough loss.
“This game comes down to when you play Abbeville, blocking and tackling. We didn’t do those two things. And it’s disappointing,” Sorrow said.
Abbeville quarterback JD Baylor wasted no time, breaking loose for a 58-yard touchdown run just 36 seconds into the first quarter, finishing the night with 85 rushing yards.
