PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Stormy weather intensifies across the Pacific Northwest on Saturday as the impacts of this strong atmospheric river continue to be felt.

A KOIN 6 Weather Alert remains in effect as soaking rains continue to work their way into western Oregon and southwest Washington on Saturday. The threat of severe weather also increases during the afternoon hours when storms become more isolated and scattered in nature. A marginal risk of severe weather means Oregon could see a great chance of damaging winds, large hail, and lightning.

Gusty winds will keep the power outage potential elevated. This comes as wet weather softens soil and trees lose their stability during windy conditions. Downed trees and broken limbs could bring power lines down in some areas.
