Six years after a man, who worked as a manager of a restaurant, suffered 65% permanent disability in a road accident, a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Delhi recently awarded him a compensation of Rs 22.3 lakh.

“He (victim of the accident) must have suffered immense physical, mental and emotional trauma for what he was compelled to undergo on account of injuries sustained in the accident,” said Presiding Officer Shelly Arora in her order dated October 17.

She was hearing a petition seeking compensation filed by Prashant Joshi, who was injured after a speeding car collided with his two-wheeler on April 3, 2019. Joshi was on his way from Mayur Vihar to his home in Ghaziabad.
