A nine-vehicle crash sent multiple people to the hospital and closed southbound Interstate 225 in Aurora for four hours late Friday night and early Saturday morning, police officials said.

The crash happened on I-225 near Parker Road at 10:24 p.m., Aurora police said on social media.

“Numerous people have been transported to the hospital, including at least one with serious injuries,” agency officials wrote in a post on X.

Additional information on how many people were injured was not immediately available.

Southbound I-225 was closed at East Iliff Avenue until just after 2 a.m., according to Aurora police.
