CLEVELAND, Ala. ( WBRC ) - After Kimber Mills lost her life in a shooting less than a week ago , the 18-year-old was honored by her cheerleading team and the school during senior night on Friday, Oct. 24.

Mills was supposed to be there celebrating the years she dedicated to the Cleveland High School cheer team — walking down the track with her family, lining up next to her teammates. Instead, Kimber’s family walks alone, in her honor.

A sea of pink on both sides of the field — students, parents, and staff from both schools wearing her favorite color, as they celebrate their seniors and remember the bright smile that lit up every game from the sidelines.

Banners, face paint, and ribbons all with the letters “LLK” — Love Like Kimber. A phrase friends tell us they plan to live by.
