TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Over 30,000 people walked a loop around Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Saturday morning as part of the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser.
The annual event hosts cancer survivors, families, friends, and what ACS calls "pre-vivors," or people with cancer in their families.
"As much of a shock as it is, the American Cancer Society is there to help you all the way through," said Susan Fernandez, a committee member.
The event included live music, dozens of local vendors and booths, and a walk through the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' home stadium. All proceeds went toward cancer treatments and research.
The event's total fundraising goal was just north of $1 million.
