ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A man was charged Friday for dousing a St. Louis Public Library security guard with lighter fluid and threatening on “blowing up” the building.
Elhadj Mbemjue, 21, was charged with first-degree terrorist threat, resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony and two charges of fourth-degree assault.
According to court records, Mbemjue had been sentenced on Oct. 16 to five days in jail for assaulting a security guard at the Foundry.
On Friday, he was trespassing in the library located at the 1300 block of Olive Street.
The library security guard told Mbemjue he had to leave the building.
He refused and verbally confronted the guard. At one point, Mbemjue flicked his lit cigarette to the guard and doused him in lighter fluid.
