ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A man was charged Saturday with stabbing his roommate.

Jason Lamont Chatman, 48, was charged with one count of first-degree assault or attempt of serious physical injury or special victim.

According to court records, officers responded to the 1300 block of Tucker Boulevard at 1:39 p.m. Friday.

Upon arriving, they found a man with a stab wound to the abdomen. The man identified Chatman, his roommate, as the attacker.

According to the man, Chatman was demanding money and prescription medicine from him during the argument and Chatman stabbed him.

The roommate was transported to a nearby hospital due to his wounds.

Chatman was found nearby by officers and was arrested at gunpoint.
