A man was shot and killed following an altercation at a bar in Long Beach early Saturday, Oct. 25, police said.
Officers responded around 1:40 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of La Verne Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department said. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite receiving medical aid, the man was pronounced dead.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute that began at a nearby bar in Belmont Shore. The confrontation continued outside on La Verne Avenue, where a man allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing in a vehicle, police said.
Police did not name the bar where the fight started. The victim’s identity was not released.
