A mother in the later stages of cancer was able to fulfil her son’s dream of seeing him marry his fiancé in a special wedding ceremony on her hospital ward.
Following news of his mother Carol Melton’s sudden cancer diagnosis, James, 38 and his partner Shoni, age 30, brought forward their planned nuptials for next year in a beautiful ceremony.
Carol, from Irvine, was an inpatient at the Gynaecology Ward at University Hospital, Crosshouse and the staff rallied to create a special wedding day in a pinch for her son and partner, reports the Daily Record.
It was a real team effort to make it a day to remember, with staff coming together to decorate a room on the ward with flowers and balloons; the hospital catering team supplying food and drinks; and the Medical Photography team provi
