Deputies investigating false bomb threat near old courthouse in Putnam County

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) is investigating after a false bomb threat was made Friday night.

PCSO said the Cookeville Police Department received a call reporting a possible bomb threat near the old courthouse on the Square on East Spring Street at around 10 p.m. Friday.

CPD officers and PCSO deputies responded to the area and conducted a search and further investigation; the threat was determined to be unfounded. PCSO said the call originated from out of town.

The investigation into this false threat is ongoing.
