A 56-year-old British tourist has died in the Canary Islands after plunging nearly 20ft when the railing of a hotel 'gave way'. ‌

Another holidaymaker, aged 54, also fell and was left seriously injured in the same incident in the resort of Costa Teguise, Lanzarote early this morning. ‌

The 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was seriously injured and rushed to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, where they remain in a critical condition. ‌
