Vanderbilt student nails $500k field goal in socks on ESPN College GameDay

It was a morning to remember in Nashville as Vanderbilt student Tyler Hwang walked onto the ESPN College GameDay set and walked off half a million dollars richer.

The 19-year-old chemical engineering and economics major won the show’s weekly Pat McAfee kicking contest and delivered the performance of the season. The killer part is he was nearly barefoot and in socks.

With former Commodores kicker Sarah Fuller cheering him on, Hwang stepped up for a single 33-yard field goal attempt worth $500,000 to him and $250,000 to charity.
