FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The City of Fort Smith has implemented a new organizational structure aiming at improving efficiency and customer service across departments.
The city announced on Friday that it had combined and added some city departments.
The new departments include a Department of Water Resources, the Department of Public Works, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Citizen Services and the Department of Public Safety Communications.
Several administrative functions have also been reorganized or consolidated to improve coordination and efficiency.
These changes include combining city-wide communications staff, centralizing the Training, Safety, and Risk Management program within the Department of Human Resources, and establishing a city-wide Business Analyt
