A Blaine County Democratic Central Committee precinct captain in a letter to the editor printed in the Friday edition of the Express endorsed several candidates running for elected offices in Ketchum just days after the chair of the same committee stated in a guest opinion that "nonpartisan city races should remain free of party influence."

Democratic Committee Chair Deborah Silver's guest opinion , printed in the Wednesday edition of the Express, argued that a pair of recently-formed Blaine County political action committees , the Blaine County Common Sense PAC and Blaine County Accountability PAC, will erode the county's "tradition of civic independence" by injecting partisan Republican politics into nonpartisan municipal races.
