Freshman Joe Garrean of Homestead beat Bishop Chatard sophomore Casey Beckmann, 6-4, 6-4, in the singles state championship at Park Tudor on Saturday. In doubles, Ethan Cougill and Skylar Rose fo Brownsburg beat Culver Academies' James Bartelme and Emiliano Ornelas, 6-1, 6-3, for the state title.
Garrean defeated Henry Trapp of Castle in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-1. Trapp beat East Noble's Ettore Bona, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Beckmann defeated Chesterton's Like Sorgic, 6-3, 6-1, in the quarterfinals and Yuvraj Dasari of Center Grove, 6-0, 7-5 in the semifinals.
Cougill and Rose defeated Westview's Kaden Grau and Luke Stults, 6-2, 6-0, in the first round then Teddy Littrell and Vincent Sasse of Columbus North in quarterfinals. The Brownsburg duo handled Josh Weaver and Aaron Yoon
