COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police say a University of South Carolina student was seriously injured after being struck by a train on Saturday afternoon.
The Columbia Police Department said the incident happened in the 600 block of Blossom Street and involved a male student and a CSX train. A witness said the student was walking along the tracks during the incident.
He suffered what police described as multiple serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. CSX is also helping in the investigation.
