LSU got crushed 49-25 by Texas A&M on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.
Here's what we learned from the Tigers' loss, which dropped No. 20 LSU to 5-3 and 2-3 in the SEC:
1. Defense wilts in clutch
LSU relied on its defense the first half of the season to great effect. But a unit lacking an injured Whit Weeks got gashed time and time again once again by a mobile quarterback. A week ago it was Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia. This time it was A&M’s Marcel Reed. Reed made mistakes, throwing two big first-half interceptions that both led to LSU scores. But he made up for them with four total touchdowns to key a big Aggies’ comeback just like he did in 2024 in College Station.
