INDIANAPOLIS — Katelyn Sanchez sat in the front row for the funeral of someone she never knew.
Nearly 30 others also showed up to pay their respects to someone none of them knew.
"It means a lot, because I feel like the baby deserved a proper funeral," Sanchez said.
Two months ago, Sanchez's son found the remains of an abandoned baby at Brookside Park.
"Sometimes unfortunately bad things happen and that is out of our control. I mean, I ask them all the time you know if they're OK like if they wanna talk about it," Sanchez said about her son.
The Marion County Coroner's Office says the baby girl they found was a little less than 30 weeks gestation. Coroner Alfarena McGinty says they're still waiting on test results to determine if it died in utero or after birth.
