BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti regularly references the dangers of all the "noise and clutter" on social media for a program at the top of the rankings.

It's a phrase IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza mentioned after a 56-6 win over UCLA on Saturday when talking about the team's laser focus, but he's become increasingly aware of the dangers it can present as he sits firmly in the national spotlight as one of the top Hesiman Trophy candidates.

Mendoza, who even texted this week with former Heisman winner Matt Leinart , told reporters after the game that his strategy is to keep everything "inside the building."
