Memphis Tigers football coach Ryan Silverfield came away with the biggest win of the season with a 34-31 upset over the USF Bulls on Saturday. It may be premature to crown Memphis an American Championship Game participant just yet, but The Washington Post’s Patrick Stevens is close to putting them there.

Stevens stopped short because there are still games remaining against the Tulane Green Wave and Navy Midshipmen on the schedule. The Tigers host both of those at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
