NORMAN — Linebacker Kobie McKinzie , who exited OU's game against Ole Miss on Saturday, is dealing with a groin injury, head coach Brent Venables said during his coach's show on Monday.

McKinzie was jogging at practice Monday and the Sooners are "hopeful" he'll return to action Saturday at Tennessee.

"Hated that for him," Venables said. "Just tweaked his groin, maybe around the seventh play of the game. He came back in, they had a perimeter screen and he's pursuing inside out. That's when it got him."
