They might not be in the NCAA Division III Northwest Conference championship picture, but the Pacific Boxers gave their home fans a lot to cheer about Saturday at Hanson Stadium in Forest Grove.
Pacific used an offensive explosion to score 28 second-half point to beat Willamette 35-14.
The Boxers (2-5, 1-3 NWC) rushed for 361 yards, led by star running back Brody Bantolina, a 5-8, 170-pound senior from Hawaii who went for 205 yards and two scores on 21 carries. Quarterback Keaton Smith added two touchdown passes and 11-of-18 passing for 143 yards.
For Willamette (1-6, 0-4), Austin Snodgrass had 87 yards rushing and a score on 15 carries, but its quarterbacks combined to go 8 of 18 for 77 yards with an interception.
