PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Two people were arrested after allegedly stealing a running car in southeast Portland on Saturday morning, police said.

Just after 7:30 a.m., officers with the Portland Police Bureau responded to a stolen car report near Southeast 127th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street.

According to police, a driver called police after two people got into his running car and sped away.

Officers spread out to search and found the car near Southeast 145th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. A few minutes later, police arrested two people inside a nearby smoke shop.

The two suspects were identified as 29-year-old Nicole Kandice Hallanger and 41-year-old Christopher Lee Irvin. Officials have not yet said what charges they are facing.
