Jannik Sinner secured a commanding 6-3, 6-4 win over the third seed Alex de Minaur in the semi-finals of Vienna Open on Saturday. The match was wrapped up in 87 minutes as Sinner reached the 8th ATP final of the year. Even though Sinner dropped the serve twice, he ultimately proved to be the winner as he overpowered Minaur.
According to Reuters, the win extends Sinner’s inner hardcourt streak to 20 consecutive victories and this also marked his 50th career win against the top 10 player. As noted by the ATP Tour, Sinner’s achievement makes him the first man to reach eight finals in consecutive years since Novak Djokovic in 2015-16. Sinner will now face Alexander Zverev in the final, with hopes of adding another title to his season.
