PRESCOTT, AZ (AZFamily) — A woman is recovering after a scary fall on a Prescott-area mountain Saturday morning.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies and Search and Rescue teams responded to the Granite Mountain area for reports of an injured rock climber. The 30-year-old woman fell 10 to 15 feet, and crews say she had a serious leg injury.
They determined the best way to get her off the mountain was to use the AZ DPS Ranger helicopter. Crews helped the woman with her injuries and applied a tourniquet. She was then taken to a hospital in Prescott.
