An Edinburgh mum has slammed her son’s former school, claiming his ‘head was slammed against a wall’ by another pupil inside a classroom.

Ana Martinez told Edinburgh Live her son required three stitches following the incident in May 2025 which saw the worried parent arrive at school to find him looking pale and lying on a couch.

The 48-year-old said he also managed to leave the building unsupervised before being found attempting to purchase a train ticket.

She spoke to Edinburgh Live to raise her concerns with how the school handled multiple alleged ‘failures’ regarding eight-year-old son, Markel.
