Halloween is just around the corner, and while this year could bring one of the coldest trick-or-treat nights in years, what’s typical for October 31st here in Augusta? Lets take a look back at our Halloween climate history.
Halloween weather in Augusta usually leans more “treat” than “trick.” On average, we see highs around 76 degrees, but we’ve had our share of extremes. The warmest Halloween hit 89°, both in 1961 and 2016. On the flip side, the coldest on record was back in 1925, when the high only reached 48°.
And while we’ve had some spooky chills, 99 percent of Halloweens here have stayed at or above 50°, so truly cold ones are rare.
When it comes to rain, most years stay dry. Augusta averages just 0.08 inches on Halloween, with measurable rain only about a quarter of the time. Th
