Cristiano Ronaldo Jr is clearly following in his father's footsteps after being selected for Portugal's U16 squad as he progresses through the international youth system.

The 15-year-old has earned his place in the national setup, achieving something his legendary father never managed - representing Portugal at U16 level. Whilst Ronaldo Sr featured for various Portuguese youth teams before his senior debut in 2003, he bypassed the U16 stage entirely.

His son will now have the opportunity to represent his country in the upcoming Football Federations Cup in Antalya, Turkey, scheduled between October 30 and November 4.

The youngster, who is currently plying his trade at Al-Nassr's academy in the Saudi Pro League, was amongst 22 players selected for the tournament. Although
