UFC icon Jon 'Bones' Jones has fired a tongue-in-cheek quip towards Tom Aspinall after the heavyweight's no-contest against Cyril Gane. The Salford-born heavyweight champion saw his main event bout against the Frenchman at UFC 321 waved off after a gruesome double eye-poke forced the defending champ to withdraw from the fight.
Jones has been viewed as Aspinall's main target during his quest to become the world champion. After being the interim title holder for 19 months while waiting for the bout, the American has been touted as one of the best fighters to step foot in the Octagon, but his retirement and inactivity have made it difficult for Dana White to match the pair.
