A Yorkshire father, who described his childhood as an "ordeal" due to undiagnosed ADHD, has initiated a campaign to reassure young people that "they are not alone".

Ryan Swain, 35, recalled how during his school years he could "never sit still" and would often "blurt out answers before the teacher finished", frequently finding himself in hot water. The professional DJ and entertainer from Malton, North Yorkshire , likened his brain to a firework display "but you're the one holding all the rockets".

He admitted to struggling with mainstream education until he was eventually expelled at the age of 15. Despite transitioning into an alternative education programme that blended core subjects with life skills, Ryan continued to grapple with his undiagnosed ADHD and became "overwhelmed" by it
