LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Some minor damage has been reported from last night’s storms in Southwest Louisiana.

The severe weather threat has ended after a night of strong storms and tornado warnings.

KPLC saw trees, power poles, and mailboxes knocked down, as well as trash cans and tree limbs strewn about in the Maplewood area of Sulphur.

There were at least two radar-confirmed tornadoes – one that traveled from Sulphur into Lake Charles, and one near Bell City. National Weather Service teams will survey the area today.

Officials with Calcasieu Parish, Westlake, Lake Charles and Sulphur said no injuries or major damage had been reported, but some power lines and trees were down throughout the area.

KPLC will be out again today to survey storm damage.
