A woman died after she was trampled by cows while walking her dog.

Rebecca Jane Hitchings was in Exmoor in southwest England earlier this month when a herd of cows trampled her, an inquest was told, according to the BBC .

She suffered severe injuries and was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in the nearby city of Plymouth, the outlet reported.

Hitchings, 59, died at Derriford Hospital of her injuries on Thursday, Oct. 16, according to the BBC. She suffered blunt trauma, which led to hemorrhagic shock, the outlet reported, citing coroner Philip Spinney.
