COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police say one man is dead after a Saturday night shooting in a neighborhood off North Main Street.

The department said officers responded to the 3400 block of Bellingham Road around 11:30 p.m., where they found a man outside and attempted to save his life as they awaited emergency responders. The department said the man died at the hospital.

Police are still working to determine the circumstances of the shooting and who is responsible. Chief Skip Holbrook urged anyone with information in the case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

The Richland County Coroner's Office has not yet released the victim's name.
