A Teesside council is getting ready to discuss plans for the introduction of a new weekly food waste recycling service. Redcar and Cleveland Council ’s Cabinet will discuss the plans when they meet on Tuesday, November 4.
All households in the borough will be eligible for the new service which will come into effect from spring 2026 in line with new Government requirements. Residents will be provided with a 5-litre internal kitchen caddy, compostable liners and a 23-litre kerbside container, with weekly collections due to start from spring next year.
