Right behind home plate, a Colonel Sanders lookalike in a white suit and black bow tie was chilling like it was just another day at the ballpark. However, this wasn’t just random costume stuff. It was all part of something much weirder.
Some fans speculated that the Sanders impersonator was trying to mess with the Dodgers, especially with the “Curse of the Colonel” hanging over Japanese baseball. The story goes that in 1985, after Hanshin Tigers fans tossed a Sanders statue into a canal, they endured a 38-year championship drought.
